Well, we’re selling our beautiful cottage home! When I say cottage, it’s not that the house actually is a cottage. It’s more so the fact it looks like a cottage on the outside but inside it’s modern to the core. It’s sad that we’re having to sell, but we’re doing it because we’re moving somewhere more coastal. The kids are moving out and this home is too big for just me. At least when the kids still lived here I had people to help with the cleaning.
I listed the home for sale a week ago and have already had an offer! I’m actually relieved because I could not be bothered sending this place to auction. I hate auctions. Dozens of people traipsing around your home in shoes. What a terrible idea! I’ve worked hard to keep these hard wood floors in top condition.
I’ve never sold a house privately before, so I am looking for someone who can take care of the conveyancing. Caulfield is a great area with very trustworthy people, but sometimes you just don’t know what type of people you’ll get buying your home. Granted, I think this couple is lovely. The wife seems to be absolutely enamoured with my house and I love that. I’d hate for this home to go to someone who didn’t have a true appreciation for its beauty, or had plans to undergo some serious renovations. In fact, the couple mentioned that the house is perfect as it is and it’s the first time they have ever looked at a home without wanting to make changes to it.
I met with their highly recommended conveyancing lawyers near me. We had a coffee and ran through the contracts. While private selling sounds intimidating, I feel like this process won’t be too difficult. I’m actually looking forward to handing over the keys so someone else can enjoy this beautiful home.
It’s funny, I saw their children running around the backyard while I was showing them the home. It gave me flashbacks to when my kids were young. What a beautiful memory.
