I feel like this is the first chance I’ve had to do something normal in a very long time. I’ve been going on these adventures lately – some absolutely wild and wacky quests that involve taking down a group of mechanists that want to rule the world, as well as my journey to bring down the elite society underground. When that’s your normal life, the simple pleasures of getting an ordinary car service kind of get missed.
There have been some unique circumstances that have prevented me from going on my ordinary escapades, so I’ve decided to reconnect with my simple roots. My car is in pretty good condition, but I figured I’d take it to my favourite auto electrical shop near Bentleigh for a service. After all, there’s nothing wrong with getting a car service every once in a while, even if there is nothing obviously wrong with your car – in fact, I’m pretty sure mechanics actually recommend getting a general service at least once a year.
I hadn’t seen my normal mechanic, based in the Bentleigh area, in quite a while, so he naturally asked what I’d been up to lately. It was a bit awkward since I can’t tell him anything about my recent adventures. Not because I’m confidentially bound to silence or anything. No, it’s nothing like that. I can’t tell him because he simply wouldn’t believe me. Why would my car mechanic believe crazy stories about fighting robots and living in an underground society? Especially since those things technically didn’t happen. He’ll just think I’m weird.
Oh, did you think I was being legitimate? No, I’m talking about the stories I’ve been writing lately. I haven’t literally been fighting robots. I’ve just been so absorbed in my storytelling that I wasn’t really giving myself a chance to get normal things done, like a visit to the auto shop. I’ll probably get back into my normal adventures after this, but to be honest, the whole process has been a bit of a mess lately, so who knows? Maybe there will be a few more trips to the mechanic in my immediate future.
