Reginald Part Four

Reginald continued to stare at Remy as the rat swung the hammer wildly around the room. Remy didn’t seem to care that he had just broken into a stranger’s house and was very quickly destroying it. In fact, Remy seemed to think that he was doing Reginald a favour. Reginald ran out of the bathroom and told his wife to go to the neighbour’s while he sorted the situation out. Then, Reginald returned to the bathroom to give Remy a talking to. When he arrived, however, he found that Remy had finished the demolition and was now piling the rubbish into a wheelbarrow. He seemed to be taking this bathroom remodel seriously, and had even brought a large rubbish bin into Reginald’s street to keep the pavement clean. Still, Reginald was not pleased that a stranger he had only met a few hours earlier had decided to come into his house without being invited.

“I’m not going to be paying for whatever it is you’re doing,” Reginald said. “In fact if you do anything to break my house then I’m going to get you in trouble by calling the rat police, and they’ll come and put you in rat jail.”

“No, I’m a millionaire,” said Remy as he swept the debris off the bathroom floor. “I own the rat police and I own the land that the rat jail sits on. I thought I told you that I’m the most famous rat in all of the sewers. Nobody would put me in jail. Besides, I’m doing you a favour. I own the best bathroom design company operating in Melbourne. You wouldn’t let me fix your kitchen, so I’ve decided to fix your bathroom instead as a way to show you how talented I am.”

“But I already hired a company to fix my bathroom,” Reginald said.

But Remy didn’t care. He continued demolishing Reginald’s bathroom and was talking to himself about all the different plans he had to make it look nicer.
